Here's how installation went for me
I have a laptop with a HCF modem. When reinstalling, a PCI Generic device is recognized.
So I downloaded this executable, unzipped it to a folder (C \MODEM), and threw away the installed PCI Generic Device. Then I rebooted. Sure enough, the PCI Generic Device was rediscovered, but when asked for drivers I pointed to C \MODEM. Then a HCFMODEM was installed, after that the Conexant HCF PCI modem was recognized immediately.
And that was all that was needed...
Once again F*CK SONY-SUPPORT! Those bastards really don't know what they are doing or supposed to be doing.
