I was given parts from a Dell XPS T600r and installed the Aztech MDP 3900 V-U(B) modem in another computer running Windows XP Professional to replace an aging phoebe micro isa modem.

It installed as a Dell Data Fax Modem and worked for a while but started to have a large number of transmission errors.

I uninstalled it and when I attempted to reinstall it the system could not find the default Dell Data Fax Modem driver it had used previously. The modem was identified simply as a Simple Communications Controller.

After extensive searching I finally found the driver that works.

For the install I extracted the files and manually pointed the hardware installer to the included .inf file.

I am now connected at 48k and have had no transmission errors yet.
