***************** Installing the USB Driver *****************
Step 1. Click on the new drivers to download >>> Select 'Save this program to disk' >>> Save the program in a easy to find folder where you will remember where the driver was saved.
Step 2. When the driver download is finished, disconnect from the Internet >>> go to the folder where you saved the driver >>> double-click the driver and it will self extract to the 'C:\sharkmm' folder.
Step 3.Go to the control panel >>> add / remove programs>>> double-click on 'uninstall Pocket USB modem'>>> when prompted click 'OK' to uninstall.
Step 4. Unplug the USB modem and plug it in again >>> Windows should detect new hardware 'USB Device' >>> click 'Next' >>> Select 'Search for the best driver for your device.(Recommended)' >>> place a check in the 'Specify location:'box and un-check all other boxes >>> in the location window
type 'C:\sharkmm\'. >>> It will detect 'USB Device Modem'>>> after it copies all the necessary files click finish>>> It will then finish installing the modem devices.
***************** Trouble shooting *****************
To test the modem to make sure it is working :
Step 1.Close all applications >>>> Go to the control panel >>> double-click modems >>> click on the 'Diagnostics'
tab >>> select the Com X that the Pocket USB Modem is on >>> Click 'more info' >>> it will report communicating
with modem. >>> when it is finished it will report information. >>> under the command | response area it should have a list of commands and there responses. For the command ATI1 it should have one response report
'Pocket USB Modem' If this reports back this response then the modem is functioning.
If the modem did not pass the test :
Step 1.Reboot the system and run the test again. >>> If the modem still does not respond, uninstall and reinstall the modem following the directions at the beginning of these instructions.If it still does not function correctly please try the original CD and instructions from manual, to veryify the modem is still
working. Then download the drivers again. Maybe the downloaded files became corrupted.
If the modem is not connecting :
Step 1.Reboot the system and try to connect again.
Try another phone number if available.
Try another phone line if available.
